The area boast some excellent cross-country skiing as well as some of the best snowmobile trails in Ontario. The Bruce Peninsula is a fantastic place in the winter. Miles of fresh snow awaits hikers, snowshoers, skiers and snowmobilers Even dog sledding is finding it's place here in the Bruce Peninsula. There are plenty of accommodations available for you in the winter, as well as local restaurants, stores and some gift shops. Many shops do close for the winter, and our villages are very quiet. Most visitors in the winter come up for the quiet of the area. The waters surrounding the Bruce freeze in the winter, and the waves & currents push ice onto the shore - building huge ice mountains that are breath-taking to view. Visit the Bruce Peninsula when you stay in Sauble Beach this winter!

Snowmobile Sauble Beach & Beyond

snowmobile saubleSauble Beach really is the epitome of a winter wonderland when that white stuff comes down. We're what connects you to an incredible trail system that will take you just about anywhere you may want to go in Ontario. The Sauble Sno-Riders invite you to experience over 3,000 km of snowmobile trails in the District 9 system. Sauble Beach is the hub for snowmobiling in Grey-Bruce. The main B Trail runs north through our region all the way up the Peninsula. See the area, spend an afternoon, or pack some gear and tour the Bruce and Grey counties. Don't forget to take a camera though, because you'll have exclusive access to some of the most beautiful (and otherwise inaccessible) country you've ever seen.
Access to snowmobile routes may be found:
1. Off of D-line, just south of Fedy Dr.
2. At the north and south corners of Rankin Bridge Road (just east of the Rankin Bridge)
3. At the south corner of C-line, off of Jewel Bridge Road
4. Off of Main Street (County Rd. 8) between D-line and Municipal Road

The Bruce Peninsula provides the perfect backdrop for snowmobiling. There are miles of trails that run from Sauble Beach all the way up to Tobermory. To use these private trails, all snowmobilers must purchase a trail permit, available at several locations in Sauble Beach

Some of the snowmobile trails in the Bruce Peninsula takes you through forests and along escarpments, providing you with some beautiful views of the rugged limestone formations famous on the Niagara Escarpment.. Be sure to bring your camera.
